INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING UP BROADCASTING VIA WINAMP

This article will show you how to start broadcasting with Winamp and a special plugin for Winamp – Winamp DSP Plugin.First of all you will need the most recent version of the Winamp player.

Next, you need to download and install the DSP Winamp Plugin.

Launch Winamp. To configure the broadcast plugin, go to Preferences

On the menu Plug-ins => DSP/Effect choose a plugin Edcast DSP v3. The main window of the plugin will appear, as shown in the screenshot:

Selecting the DSP plugin
Click Add Encoder to add a broadcast server. Then right-click on the newly created Encoder and select Configure. This will bring up its configuration window, as shown in the screenshot:

In the window that opens, enter all the data from your personal account:

Enter the broadcast server settings
In the field Server Type – choose Icecast2
In the field Encoder Type – choose MP3 Lame
In the field Bitrate – enter the broadcast bitrate (in our example it is 128 )
In the field Channels – enter 2
In the field Server IP – enter the address of the broadcast server (in our example it is radioserver.fm)
In the field Server Port – enter the broadcast server port (in our example it is 8000)
In the field Encoder Password – enter the password on the broadcast server (Click on the “View Password” link to view the password. In our example it is 123)
In the field Mountpoint – Enter the mount point on the streaming server (in our example it is /test)

You can specify settings for your Internet radio, such as your homepage, DJ’s ICQ, etc. To do this, click the YP Settings button and fill in the relevant fields. This information can be viewed by listeners both on your radio’s status web page and in their media players.

Click OK. Click Connect in the main window of the plugin. If you have done everything correctly, the plugin will connect to our streaming server and your radio station will automatically switch to the music you are playing in Winamp

Broadcasting from the Winamp player
Now all the music you play in Wiamp will be broadcasted to the network (including if you connect a microphone, listeners will also hear it). To broadcast the sound stream from a microphone or other sound source, click on the Live Recording icon in the main window of the plugin. The music played by the Winamp player will be muted and your voice or another sound source will appear on the air.
